Caledonian Advanced Pilot Training opens in Scotland

Caledonian Advanced Pilot Training is opening a new base in… Scotland!

CAPT has closed its premises in Littlehampton and opened in Troon, near Prestwick, in Scotland, eight miles from the CAA’s examination centre in Ayr, as Phil Croucher, head of training, points out.

“The new base offers inexpensive accommodation for students and other examination candidates,” said Phil.

“This base will be in addition to our usual main base at Wycombe and our satellite at Lelystad, Holland.”

CAPT’s full range of EASA approved courses includes:

  • ATPL(A & H)
  • CPL(A & H)
  • IR(A & H), including the EIR/CBIR
  • PPL (A & H)
  • Multi-Engine Pre-Entry Conversion (for helicopter pilots – included in all helicopter courses)
  • Single Pilot CRM/Pilot Decision Making (also included with each professional course)

Each professional course involves a registration fee of £395, plus £135 per day for classroom consolidation. Eight days are required for ATPL candidates holding an ICAO PPL (five days for CPL holders), so the total cost (excluding exam fees) can be as low as £1,475 (or £1,070).

“We can also provide private tuition on an individual basis though videoconferencing,” said Phil.
