Nottingham-based Central Helicopters, which delivers CAA approved PPL(H), LAP(L), CPL(H) and FI courses, has made more places available for their 2017 intake of student pilots. The tuition takes place at the Nottingham Heliport, in Widmerpool, home to the company’s modern, purpose-built flight training centre.

Current Head of Training, Capt. David Marsland, is himself a success story of the school, having progressed through various stages of flight training. David will be overseeing the 2017 training programme.

He said, “We are proud of our high success rates for newly-qualified pilots, which is based on giving more personalised training to a smaller numbers of students – for this reason, places are limited.

“Students fly in our Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters, from our recently re-developed heliport, which includes a state-of-the-art training centre.”

Another highly respected training specialist, Capt. Geoff Day, will be conducting the Flight Instructor Rating (FI) course. Geoff has successfully trained in excess of 250 flight instructors.
