British Airways calls for more female applicants for Future Pilot Programme

BA pilotsBritish Airways has released a video encouraging more female applicants to the carrier’s Future Pilot Programme. The video features Senior First Officer sisters Cliodhna and Aoife Duggan who fly for the airline.

Aoife explains, “I think a lot of women probably aren’t becoming pilots because it’s a potential career they haven’t considered, perhaps because they haven’t been exposed to it, or realise that there are plenty of women who are already flying.”

Despite having more female pilots than any other carrier in the UK, BA would like to see more women applying for a place on their prestigious Future Pilot Programme as male pilots still outnumber female pilot by almost 18 to 1.
