British Airways Boeing 777X

International Airlines Group (IAG) has announced a major order for 71 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.

The order for the widebody types covers both British Airways and Iberia, as well as Aer Lingus and the Spanish low-cost, long-haul airline LEVEL.

British Airways will see 32 new Boeing 787-10 aircraft, the stretched variant of the Boeing 787. British Airways currently operates the -10 model with 256 seats. Also joining the fleet will be six of Boeing’s new, 250-foot long 777-9s, bringing the total orders for the type to 24 confirmed orders, with around 20 options still existing.

Airbus orders include six A350-1000s for British Airways and six A350-900s for Iberia. A further 21 Airbus A330-900neos will be delivered across Aer Lingus, Iberia and LEVEL.
