One of the most experienced people in the pilot training industry, Karen Bath, formerly of CTC Aviation and L3 Harris, is to join Seager Publishing in a part-time role as Executive Producer of the series of Pilot Careers Live events.

Karen will be responsible for developing the hugely popular seminar programme staged at each Pilot Career Live event. The seminars cover subjects of key interest for would-be commercial pilots and are presented by some of the aviation industry’s top professionals.

Karen is the perfect person for this role, having played a key role in launching and managing the world-renowned CTC Wings programme, which saw several thousands of cadet pilots graduate directly into First Officer roles with partner airlines around the world.

Karen’s introduction to the airlines came in 1988 when she joined Air Europe as cabin crew. After Air Europe’s demise, she joined Air UK Leisure, later re-named Leisure International, where she was responsible for managing the airline’s Gatwick-based cabin crew and UK recruitment. She joined the then CTC Aviation (now L3 Harris Commercial Training Solutions) in 1999 and over the years, she has held a number of senior management, customer-focused roles engaging with aspiring pilots, their parents and sponsors, and the world’s airlines.

Karen’s also known for her ability to draw together senior airline managers from around the globe for the ‘Pilot Management Forum’ events that CTC hosted annually. Many pilots and airline managers will also remember the infamous graduation ceremonies and balls that Karen and her teams laid on each year to celebrate the achievements of the newly qualified pilots.

Pilot Career Live seminars

The seminars are a hugely popular element of the Pilot Careers Live events

To this day, Karen retains a real passion and drive for spotting and developing the ‘right stuff’ in an aspiring pilot; for delivering a superior customer experience for cadets, their families and airlines; securing the best possible career outcomes for newly qualified and experienced pilots; and supplying high quality, airline-ready pilots to the airlines.

Ian Seager, managing director of Seager Publishing, said, “We’re hugely excited to have someone of Karen’s calibre and experience join the PCL team. We’ve always been committed to delivering the very best experience for our visitors, and Karen will help us take that to the next level as we grow our events throughout the world.”

The next Pilot Careers Live event is in London on Friday-Saturday, 1-2 November 2019. More info here
