BA Cityflyer has opened applications for its new First Officer Modular Pathway.

The programme is part-sponsored and is an opportunity for newly-qualified pilots to join the airline as First Officers on the Embraer fleet. It is designed specifically for modular trainee pilots and will be a rolling programme.

Kura Aviation will undertake initial selection services for the airline and will also deliver airline-readiness training to the successful applicants before they begin type training.

BA Cityflyer Fleet Manager (Technical) Captain Dave Cox commented, “We are delighted to be partnering with Kura Aviation to provide BA Cityflyer with modular trained new First Officers who bring qualities and skills that we, as an airline, value highly. We are looking for exceptional people to join our flight crew and all successful applicants will undertake Kura’s Bestpilot programme which we already know standardises and enhances the qualifications and skills of modular trained pilots, creating high quality new First Officers. “

In order to apply, applicants must hold the privileges of an EASA Commercial Pilot Licence and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating, have a current Instrument Rating and Class One medical and have completed their training via the modular route.

Following selection, successful applicants will receive a First Officer job offer which is subject to satisfactory completion of Bestpilot. The programme is part-sponsored and will include an enhanced MCC, Upset Prevention and Recovery Training and pre type rating training. On completion, the Jet Orientation Certificate and Embraer 170/190 type rating will be paid for by the airline and is fully bonded.

“We are delighted to have been selected to partner with BA Cityflyer to create more employment opportunities for modular trained pilots,” said Kura’s Managing Director, Isobel Hall. “Importantly for the industry, this joint initiative provides further assurance to aspiring pilots that airline opportunities are available to those that choose modular training, and at significantly less cost.”

Applications for the BA Cityflyer First Officer Modular Pathway are being accepted exclusively through Kura Aviation. For further information and to apply, visit www.kuraaviation.com/modularpathway. Closing date is 18 November 2015.
