Leading Edge Aviation at London Oxford Airport is continuing to train professional pilots during the latest national lockdown, after a comprehensive review of the government guidelines and adopting updated and rigorous Covid protocols.

The latest guidance from the Department for Transport states, “Flying training organisations providing training for professional pilots, for the purposes of work may continue to do so.”

A statement from Leading Edge says, “Our students remain in their family bubbles, greatly limiting their interactions within the academy and a large proportion of staff are working from home, all utilising our VLE (virtual learning environment) and other digital platforms.

“When flying, our students and instructors continue to adhere to guidance, sitting side by side. Our aircraft and academy are also regularly sanitised with Bacoban, a product certified to kill Covid on surfaces and limit its transmission.

“Keeping our students, staff and their families safe is of utmost importance to us, and we will remain agile should the need arise to make changes or pause training if further Government updates are announced.”
