Egnatia Aviation in Kavala, Greece has received EASA approval for its in-house ATPL examination centre.
“This marks a big milestone for the Academy and a big step forward for the ab-initio pilot training industry,” said George Triantafyllidis, Business Development & Facilities Management Director.
“Egnatia Aviation cadets can now undertake their official EASA ATPL exams, in-house, under the supervision of HCAA.”
Egnatia says the advantages of the in-house examination centre are:
- More efficient time management
- Exams on a monthly basis
- No additional costs for travelling at CAA’s premises (Athens)
- Optimisation of long term scheduling

Egnatia Aviation was founded in 2006 and since then, more than 2,550 pilots from 57 countries have been trained with 65% of those students international. One of Egnatia’s key points is that annually it records more than 20,000 hrs of flight time, making it one of the largest in Europe.
