Air India has announced its intention to recruit 180 trainee pilots and is accepting applications from Indian Nationals.

Interested candidates, who fulfil the requirements, may apply online only. Candidates who wish to apply are advised to log on to the Career Page of the airline’s website and fill in the Online Application Format. Requirements include that candidates not be more than 35 years old and that they hold a current Indian CPL/ATPL.

Air India has already faced recruitment issues in 2015. This new intake of pilots follows the news in March 2015 that Air India failed to attract any pilot applicants for walk-in interviews for Captain’s positions with the airline.

An unnamed Air India official said of the incident, “This is the first time in recent memory that the airline organised walk-in interviews for captains and it was completely mismanaged.”
