The first speaker to be announced for Pilot Careers Live at London Heathrow on 7 November is Captain Graham Stokes, Head of Flight Operations Training and Standards, Virgin Atlantic Airways. Captain Stokes will be presenting on life flying for the airline, the airline’s fleet and answering questions on current recruitment plans.
Captain Stokes has been flying for 35 years and has flown over 16,000 hours on over 20 different types of airliner/corporate jet. Graham currently flies the B747-400, is an Instructor/Examiner on the type, and he holds the position of Senior Examiner on all Virgin types. At Virgin, he introduced the Boeing 787-9 through an innovative training programme, incorporated Airbus Mixed Fleet Flying into the Alternative Training & Qualification Programme, leads the introduction of Evidence Based Training, and is responsible for the Virgin Atlantic Future Pilot Programme- run in partnership with CTC Aviation – which sees trainee pilots join the airline as First Officers on the A330.
