Sennheiser launches UK flying scholarships

Jacob Reynolds is presented his award by Cpt Derek Spicer

Sennheiser has launched a new scholarship opportunity for UK pilots through the Live Your Dream award.

Each scholarship will be worth £1,000 and can be used for any type of training a pilot wishes, from a PPL to a PPL(H) or IR, with the prize paid to the flight school on behalf of the winner. The scholarship has been launched in association with Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex, where the winners will conduct their flight training.

The scholarship has also brought on board Cpt Derek Spicer, a training Captain for CTC Aviation, to mentor the scholarship winners and support them through their chosen flight training.

The first UK scholarship was awarded to Jacob Reynolds at the recent Professional Flight Training Exhibition at the Sofitel Hotel, London Heathrow, who made an impression with his online video application. Jacob was also awarded a Sennheiser S-1 passive headset, a Pooleys pilot kit bag and Airbox sponsored a one year subscription for the Navpack CAA 0.5mil plus Pooley’s France IGN Charts. Jacob is now about to start a PPL course at Goodwood.

Bob Speller, Sennheiser’s UK Aviation sales, explained that there will be one further scholarship offered this year, with up to five more in 2013. The next award will likely be given in early December.
