Multi-crew pilot licence training with OAA

In early 2011, Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) partnered with major European airline, easyJet, to offer a new and innovative Airline Pilot Programme based on the Multi-Crew Pilot’s Licence (MPL). This programme represents an exceptional opportunity for aspiring airline pilots to train with OAA under the mentorship of easyJet and to go on to fly as First Officers on the Airbus A320 fleet.

The first course of 8 cadets commenced training on 30th August 2011 and additional courses will enrol throughout
2012.

Following a joint OAA and easyJet screening process held at Oxford Airport in the UK, the cadets selected for this opportunity will commence MPL training in groups of six to eight under the mentorship of easyJet. The course covers ATPL theory followed by a four-phase programme of flight and synthetic training using state-of-the-art glass cockpit aircraft and simulators. Phase 4 will cover Airbus A320 type training delivered by OAA at its London Gatwick Training Centre.

This bespoke MPL course designed specifically for easyJet A320 operations will incorporate not only the required competency based flight training elements but will also include additional ‘value added’ elements of training for the airline including commercial and ground operations, safety and quality systems, environmental considerations as well as an education in the easyJet customer service ethos and corporate values.

Upon successful completion of the MPLFO programme, the cadets will be awarded an MPL by the UK CAA plus a Foundation Degree in Air Transport Management by Buckinghamshire New University, which may later be topped up to a Bachelor and even a Masters Degree.

Apply before November 4th for this exceptional programme through the OAA website or visit the OAA Stand at the Flyer Exhibition for more information.
