FTEJerez has welcomed the first group of Aer Lingus recruits who are part of the airline’s latest pilot cadetship programme. The airline received an overwhelming response with over 3,000 applications for their cadet pilot training programme. They will be joined by a second group of recruits in February 2015.
20 Aer Lingus cadets, who had successfully completed the cadetship programme, graduated from FTEJerez in May 2014 and became fully-fledged Aer Lingus co-pilots. They are now all flying Aer Lingus’ short haul European routes. This is the third Aer Lingus pilot cadetship programme with FTEJerez to begin since 2011.
Captain John Kelly, newly appointed Director of Flight Operations at Aer Lingus, said, “At Aer Lingus we believe that the highest standard of ab initio flight training is crucial in developing a pilot for the demands of airline operations. We have had an association with FTEJerez since our Cadet Pilot programme in 2000 and after a break of a number of years, recommenced this programme in 2012. FTEJerez continues to deliver the highest standards of training and care for our Cadets as they prepare for life in the world of commercial aviation.”
FTEJerez will be exhibiting at the Professional Flight Training Exhibition in Frankfurt on 28 February 2015.
