CTC Wings has announced that the easyJet 2014 MPL programme is now open for application, with an option to enrol on the new ‘easyJet Degree’. The announcement came at the first London Professional Flight Training Exhibition of 2014, which took place on Saturday 12 April at the Sofitel Hotel, T5 LHR.
Developed in partnership with CTC Aviation and Middlesex University, the initial phases of the degree will be undertaken through the normal CTC Wings programme and the final elements are achieved by undertaking A320 type rating, operational line training and two modules of easyJet-centred directed study whilst flying for easyJet. Successful pilots will end the programme with a BSc (Hons) in Professional Aviation Pilot Practice.
Announcing the programme at a recent CTC graduation ceremony, easyJet CEO Carolyn McCall explained, “I believe it’s absolutely vital to easyJet’s future that we have a pipeline of talented young people coming through and that’s why I am delighted we are now offering a degree course for our pilots.”

CTC Aviation also announced that it has teamed up with ATPL Finance to provide unsecured loans for trainee pilots completing their flight training through CTC Aviation’s modular training route, CTC Takeoff. This funding is also available to successful CTC Wings ATPL Integrated or CTC Wings MPL Route trainees.
Trainee pilots on CTC Aviation’s CTC Wings and CTC Takeoff programmes will now be able to access finance for commercial pilot training from new credit broker, ATPL Finance Ltd.
Friends and Family Funding is an additional benefit on offer from ATPL Finance Limited and allows others to apply for a loan, which can then be used to cover the cost of the student’s pilot training course. More about ATPL Finance’s new Friends and Family funding can be found here.
