Air Australia ceases all operations

International and domestic airline Air Australia ceases all operations

Fledgling budget airline Air Australia (formerly Strategic Airlines) has been placed into administration.

The Australia-based international and domestic airline has suspended all services with immediate effect and the Director of the Air Australia group of companies (“the Group”) has appointed John Park and Mark Korda of KordaMentha as Voluntary Administrators.

The Brisbane-based carrier had been operating a small fleet of leased Airbus jets. In a recent statement, the Airline said, ‘In the short term, the fleet will be grounded. It currently appears that there are no funds available to meet operational expenses so flights will be suspended immediately. For clarity, it also appears highly unlikely there will be any flights in the short to medium term.’ The airline further advised all passengers to make alternative travel arrangements.
